Credible Bigfoot Sightings
By Linda Jo Martin
What chance is there that the phenomena known as Bigfoot really exists? Many people dismiss Bigfoot sightings as mere delusion, but others believe, even without seeing one. A proliferation of credible Bigfoot sighting reports are on record and a growing collection of Bigfoot evidence has been put together by well-known scholars like Dr. Jeffrey Meldrum, a professor at Idaho State University, and the late Dr. Grover S. Krantz of Washington State University. Here are a couple of Bigfoot sightings near my home that I believe are highly credible: Dr. Matthew Johnson, a licensed clinical psychologist living in Southern Oregon, hiked Big Tree Trail through the woods behind the chalet at Oregon Caves National Monument on July 1, 2000. He was with his wife and three children. Before long they heard odd “Huamp, huamp, huamp” sounds coming from the woods uphill from them. When they quit walking, the sounds stopped. Eerie! But that’s not all. After a while Dr. Johnson climbed the hill leaving his wife and children on the trail below. He was shocked to clearly see a Bigfoot emerge from behind a tree to move to another tree. The most frightening thing for Dr. Johnson was that the Bigfoot was staring at his wife and children on the trail below! At the time he didn’t know that Bigfoot have a reputation for being docile and harmless, so he panicked and ran down the hill to his family and ordered them to hike back toward the safety of the chalet as he brought up the rear in case the Bigfoot attacked. Since that time Dr. Johnson has publicly risked his professional credibility by telling people about his Bigfoot sighting experience and participating in Southern Oregon Bigfoot research. I live about thirty miles south of Oregon Caves, as the crow flies, and was able to meet Dr. Johnson at our local Bigfoot Jamboree - a celebration we have every year on Labor Day weekend. The photo below shows him giving his presentation about his Bigfoot sighting experience. Another local Bigfoot sighting I believe is highly credible happened in 2005. A minister of a large church in Southern California, Reverend Dave Martin (no relation to me), was driving toward Happy Camp on the Klamath River Highway, not far from town. Happy Camp is the small town I live near. He witnessed a large, hairy, dark creature jump down from a hillside onto the highway in front of him. Reverend Martin was certain it was not a bear. The creature stood upright on two legs and crossed the highway in two steps, then disappeared into the darkness as it continued down the embankment toward the Klamath River. There was another similar sighting in that area a few years before, less than one mile from my home in an area I often hike to. With sightings like these it is hard not to believe, so I have become a Bigfoot researcher and now own a popular blog called Bigfoot Sightings.

I would think someone would notice when the Bigfoot goes and buys shoes.
